I woke up early with the intention to hike, but as I was driving up, I was simply too tired. As I entered the park, I saw a line of cars in a meadow and decided to stop because I assumed they were taking photos of wildlife.
There was a gigantic herd of elk!
I stayed and photographed for about two hours and instead of hiking (low on energy), I decided to drive around RMNP and come out on the other side near Denver.

Driving on the western side of the park was beautiful and far less crowded.
I was hoping to stop by Mt. Evans, but it turned out I needed a reservation. I like the reservation system in some ways, but dislike it in others.
I settled into my Airbnb, caught up on some stuff, and went to a good Mexican spot for dinner.
